Rockets hit 21 in a row, Heat sit at 11…total.

As amazing as Houston’s streak is, I can’t get over how bad the Heat have been this season. They’re 11-53 right now. This has to underscore the difference between Wade and Lebron. Wade has a more experienced coach and more experienced teammates, but can’t lead them to victories like Lebron has with a mediocre coach and fumbling teammates.

The Raptors got blown out last night by the Nuggets. At one point the Nuggets were up 44-21 – in the first quarter! Pretty brutal game to watch. I’m liking Anthony Parker more and more, though. He’s showing a real aggressiveness and killer instinct when he plays. I wonder what his scouting report is from other teams? He smothered Kobe the other night against LA, and you get the sense that he holds himself accountable for his performance on the court, which sounds obvious and expected but isn’t in today’s “blame-someone-else-first” NBA.

Also, the game recap included this tidbit about Garbo:

Before the game, Toronto announced it had filed a statement of claim against the Spanish Basketball Federation for nonpayment of insurance related Jorge Garbajosa’s injury. Garbajosa underwent more surgery on his left leg and ankle on Dec. 11 in Baltimore.

This, of course, because of this injury inflicted by the Celtics:

How does it even work with forcing an overseas body to fulfill their end of a contract? What happens if the Spanish Federation refuses to pay? What’s MLSE going to do? Sue them? Where? Here? Spain? What they should have done is put the onus on the insurance company to collect from the SBF in the event Garbo got injured. That way it’s out of their hair. Right? It’s that simple, isn’t it?
