Awkward reading.

I was reading this guy’s story online, and came upon this tidbit:

On Christmas Eve that year, three friends and I went to Olive Garden (we’re all Jewish) because nothing else was open.

And the first thing that came to my mind was why on earth Olive Garden would be the destination of choice for Jews. I couldn’t figure it out. And I’d never heard this reference before – that Jews love Olive Garden. Then I realized that he mentioned that he was Jewish not to explain why they went to Olive Garden, but to explain why they went out on Christmas Eve instead of spending the night with their families.

…still, it’d be a funny stereotype to perpetuate. “I saw Mahmoud at Olive Garden.” “He’s Jewish?” “Guess so. Why else would he be there?” etc.
