I’m pretty sure Channing Tatum is my favourite young actor right now. I thought he was great in Fighting, and it looks like he’ll be great in this.

The trailer for Dear John, starring Tatum and Amanda Seyfried:

  1. What is with the [removed] men loving Channing Tatum? Clearly neither of you have ever seen Step Up or She’s the Man, two of the worst movies ever created who owe 90% of their terribleness to Channing Tatum and his awful acting.

Also, Dear John looks bad. I mean, obviously I will watch it and love it and cry through it because I am filled with estrogen and have no choice but to adore any film based on a Nicholas Sparks novel, but really? This movie? REALLY?

  2. Did you even watch this trailer? You sound like one of those kids in high school who hated Kobe or Michael just because they were so good.

Relax. Step toward the light. Embrace the wonder.

  3. I did watch it. Twice, even. It looks kind of dull compared to Sparks’s two other famous romances: The Notebook and Message in a Bottle. Gosling is so much less wooden a leading man than Tatum.

…why are you writing as if this is a newspaper article?
And Tatum is far from Wooden. Exhibit A: he cries very convincingly in this trailer. Exhibit B: G.I. Joe. QED.

  5. My use of a colon makes my writing newspaper-like?

If (equally wooden) Hayden Christensen and Ryan Phillippe had a love child, it would be Channing Tatum.

  6. First of all: that would be the greatest family ever.

Second of all: She’s the Man looks _amazing_.
