Incredible Toyota Prius commercials

I can’t imagine what it would be like to not have to think/write/conceive in no-budget terms. Everything we do as emerging filmmakers has to make use of existing real-world locations, with no meaningful budget for set-builds, proper wardrobes, large numbers of extras, etc. Just the thought that one day you’ll be able to draw something, hand the drawing to someone, and then come back and see the drawing brought to life is enough to make you giddy with anticipation.
It’s not all positives, of course - as amazing as it must be to have six or seven figures to bring 30 seconds to life, it also means that you’re no longer being compared to Johnny and Timmy Handycam down the street. You enter an arena occupied by some of the most creative people in the world, all with amazing support teams surrounding them and a war chest of cash at their disposal to bring their imagination to life and to help their efforts stand out from the pack.
That’s the kind of pressure that paralyzes some people.
For others, it leads to this:
What’s weird is that when you peek behind the curtain in the following making-of video, you come away even more amazed by what they were able to create. Pretty outstanding.
