Sabzi from Common Market & Blue Scholars takes us behind the scenes

This is a great clip from crossfader.com on hiphop producer Sabzi (Saba Mohajerjasbi) and the method behind his production madness. It’s pretty insane. Especially for anyone who has a desire to try their hand at music production. My first taste was in early 2000, using entry-level “DJ” looping software on my cousin’s Gateway 2000 Pentium II home PC (although I had been manipulating wav files as early as 1996 on my Compaq Presario 1525). The song? An original piece celebrating Deuce Bigalow, Male Gigolo. I only wish I still had it. It would still make heads bob. People would confuse themselves for buoys.
