Boycott Dunkin’ Donuts

Dunkin’ Donuts has pulled an ad from the web after people complained that the scarf the model was wearing supported terrorism.

…seriously?

OK, sure, maybe there are people stupid enough to think people would believe this nonsense, but the fact that Dunkin’ Donuts heard the criticism and agreed with it is what upsets me.

How do you respond to this kind of stuff? Terrorists wear underwear under their clothes, too. Are we going to start pulling advertisements where the models are wearing underwear? Terrorists shampoo their hair with Pantene Pro-V – should we force Pantene off the market? Terrorist eat Big Macs and drive cars – do you want to support them by eating Big Macs and driving cars yourselves?

The fact that the rhetoric is out there is fine. There will always be stupid people. But the fact that companies will bend to placate hate-mongering bigots is unjustifiable.
