Carl Erik Rinsch, a commercial and music video director who was originally slated to direct the upcoming prequel to the Alien franchise, directed this short film to help promote a new contest that Philips is running on YouTube.

The short has apparently sparked a bidding war among Hollywood studios for adaptation into a feature film, and it looks like it’ll turn Rinsch, a filmmaker who’s been on the verge of receiving membership to Hollywood’s filmmaking elite, into this year’s Neill Blomkamp.
