On the other hand, keep TJ.
March 30th, 2008 | Basketball, Sports | Comment »This, from a Toronto Sun article:
There are rumblings out of New York that the woeful Knicks might push the Raptors for a trade in the off-season, and that point guard T.J. Ford would be the player they would covet the most. One prominent blogger in the Big Apple suggested that the Raptors would be interested in wingmen Renaldo Balkman or Jared Jeffries, or perhaps try to upgrade at the shooting guard spot by trading for Jamal Crawford.
Listen, I’m all for trading TJ. But the idea would be to upgrade. Bringing someone from the Knicks culture could only poison the team, the one exception maybe being David Lee. And bringing someone like Crawford in, who has a history or being a whiner and a ball hog – the two primary reasons we want to get rid of TJ in the first place, just doesn’t add up. Plus, they’d effectively be saying that Crawford is a more valuable player than AP, which I’m sure you’ll agree is hogwash.
