Incredible Performance Capture Featurette on Avatar
January 30th, 2010 | Arts, Film | Comment »I don’t know how many of you can appreciate the computational horsepower needed to make this work the way it does, but the filmmaking process behind Avatar, based on this performance capture featurette alone, is a huge, huge technological step forward. I doubt anyone other than James Cameron would have had the clout, financial backing, and vision necessary to pull this off, and it certainly makes the motion capture efforts of Robert Zemeckis seem like child’s play in comparison.
