Designed by Andy Lynch and developed by Armour Group, Ben McCrea’s development company, the $16 million ‘Waterfront Centre’ proposal calls for 80,000 square feet of Class A office space spread over nine floors adjacent to our beloved Morse’s Tea building.

In order to expedite the approval process, the press release describing the project includes this subtle nugget:

Mr. McCrea also stated that Armour had worked diligently with HRM staff over the past 18 months and hopes to see this project proceed in the near future to avoid the prospect of the Company owning a group of boarded up derelict buildings in the heart of our commercial centre.

The development will include the restoration of four heritage buildings and the demolition of one, an issue that’s sure to attract the attention of heritage advocates. Let’s hope it gets approved quickly regardless.
