This is pretty crazy.

Travis Pastrana, who’s apparently some kind of…rally driver?…set a new world record for a ramp-to-ramp car jump on December 31, 2009, by taking off a ramp and landing safely 269ft away.

The best thing about the video is how jazzed he is about the whole thing. He’s not trying to look cool or act as if it was all business – he was genuinely pumped about having set the new world record, and it came off as an almost child-like sense of excitement. It was as if he had run down on Christmas morning and found a BMX bike under the tree. It’s nice to see that kind of un-steroided emotion from time to time.
